This summer we will offer our third Beyond Pink conference, which is expected to day around 200 practitioners, administrators and policymakers from across the state. The focus of the next Beyond Pink is racial diversity, but will also include breakouts on commercial sexual exploitation, efforts to develop gender adaptation to existing programs and handling status offenses through diversion. This is a wonderful, community-building event that strengthens the passion of the coalition as well as the state for gender-focused work. The conference also provides an opportunity for the coalition to get feedback from state partners about local needs - how the coalition can provide support to individuals and the courts seeking to institute reforms. The success of the last two Beyond Pink conferences established this event as the only repeating statewide conference on juvenile justice practice in Washington State.
